Presbyterian Recognized As Center Of Excellence For Anticoagulation Services

Release Date:

March 9, 2015

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Presbyterian Healthcare Services recently received the Anticoagulation Center of Excellence for 2014-2016 designation from the Anticoagulation Forum. Presbyterian is the first organization in the United States to achieve this recognition for its combined inpatient and outpatient programs.

“This achievement recognizes our dedication to providing the highest level of care and obtaining the best possible outcomes for patients who require anticoagulation services,” said Matt Nagy, Director of Pharmacy, Presbyterian Healthcare Services.

To be considered for this recognition, Presbyterian had to undergo a rigorous assessment that measured its practice against five key areas of patient care: drug therapy management; disease state management; transition and coordination of care; service operational performance; and patient and family education.

The Anticoagulation Forum is a multidisciplinary non-profit organization with a mission to improve the quality care for patients taking antithrombotic medications.
