ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – In recognition of its consistent performance in meeting national emergency care standards, Albuquerque Ambulance Service (AAS) was recently re-accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services ("Commission").
AAS is one of only 180 ambulance services in the country to successfully complete the voluntary review process, which included completion of a comprehensive application and on-site review by national experts in emergency medical services. AAS has been accredited by the Commission since 1996.
"We are thrilled to have our accreditation renewed," said Kurt Krumperman, chief, Albuquerque Ambulance Service. "This achievement recognizes our sustained performance in meeting national standards for providing quality emergency medical care. Congratulations to our dedicated team of paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, dispatchers and staff. Thank you to our hospital, fire department and community partners for participating in the review process."
The Commission is a non-profit organization established to promote high-quality patient care in America's medical transportation system. The Commission's purpose is accomplished by establishing national standards, which not only address the delivery of patient care, but also the ambulance service's total operation and its relationships with other agencies, the general public and the medical community.
