ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – For the fourth year in a row, Presbyterian Healthcare Services (Presbyterian) has received the MAP Award for High Performance in Revenue Cycle, sponsored by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Presbyterian was among 22 winners and only three integrated health systems across the country selected for this year's award.
"As an integrated health care system, Presbyterian strives to identify opportunities to simplify the experience of a patient or member engaging in health care," said Brad Cook, vice president of revenue cycle management, Presbyterian Healthcare Services. "Receiving HFMA's MAP Award for the fourth year in a row demonstrates our sustained commitment to easing the way for our patients and members."
In health care, revenue cycle includes the capture, management and collection of patient service revenue—from the time a patient makes an appointment to when the balance is paid. To earn this recognition, Presbyterian excelled in meeting industry standard revenue cycle benchmarks (MAP Keys®), implementing the patient-centered recommendations and best practices embodied in HFMA's Healthcare Dollars & Sense™ initiatives and achieving outstanding patient satisfaction.
"Kudos to our winners for their outstanding revenue cycle performance," said HFMA President and CEO Joseph J. Fifer, FHFMA, CPA. "These organizations have connected the dots between consumerism and revenue cycle results. That's a win-win approach for both consumers and providers."
Award recipients are acknowledged as industry leaders and share proven strategies with their colleagues. Winners will be recognized at HFMA's annual conference on June 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
