ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Presbyterian Healthcare Services was recently recognized by Premier Inc, a leading healthcare improvement company, for creating practices to reduce risk and enhance the quality of care and for high-value purchasing practices.
Presbyterian was one of only three organizations in the country to receive the American Excess Insurance Exchange (AEIX) Risk Management Award from Premier Insurance Management Services Inc., a subsidiary of Premier. Winners were selected based on whether their projects reduced cost and improved patient safety, whether clear metrics were created to track and sustain success and how their work can be applied to other health care organizations. Presbyterian was recognized specifically for its work to improve follow-up with patients when radiology reports reveal unsuspected findings.
In addition, Presbyterian was one of 14 hospitals and health systems to receive the Supply Chain Excellence Award for superior supply expense performance. The award recognizes organizations for their advanced purchasing abilities as well as for their work in collaborating to share best practices.
Winners were announced during Premier's annual Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee on June 20 and 21.
