Free Flu Shots Available in Socorro

SOCORRO, N.M. -- FREE flu shots will be available on October 17 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Socorro General Medical Group at 1202 Highway 60 West, Building D in Socorro.

Free flu shots will be available for community members who are three years and older. 

The 2018-2019 flu vaccine will protect against four strains of seasonal flu:

  • Influenza A H3N2-type virus
  • Influenza A H1N1-type virus
  • Two Influenza B-type viruses

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone six months and older receive the flu vaccine.  Families should contact their child's primary care provider to receive a properly dosed flu shot.
