Lincoln County Medical Center Hosts Free Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic on Oct. 31

RUIDOSO, N.M. – Lincoln County Medical Center is hosting a free drive-thru flu shot clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 12-3 p.m., or while supplies last.

Flu shots will be given in front of the main hospital entrance, at 211 Sudderth Drive. Community members are asked to use the eastern most entrance to the hospital parking lot for their convenience.

"Our purpose is to improve the health of the community we serve – we hope to reach and protect as many people as possible ahead of the flu season," said Todd Oberheu, chief hospital executive.

Flu shots will be available for all ages. However, community members under age 5 must have previously had a flu shot to participate in the clinic. The 2018-2019 flu vaccine will protect against four strains of seasonal flu:

  • Influenza A H3N2-type virus
  • Influenza A H1N1-type virus
  • Two Influenza B-type viruses
