In 2020, Dr. Jason Mitchell, chief medical officer for Presbyterian Healthcare Services, plans to continue the organization's focus on improving the experience of clinicians and expanding value-based models.
While Presbyterian has succeeded in value-based arrangements for many years, Mitchell explains
in an interview that he hopes to take this approach further to improve quality and the clinician experience. He also hopes to engage a larger network of providers in capitated care.
"Why take capitated risk, why do value-based payments, if you can't use it to enrich the experience of the patients and the clinicians," he says.
