We know that vaccines are the best protection against COVID-19. As hospitalizations continue to grow and our hospitals reach capacity once more, the time is now for us to step up together and protect our communities, workforce and each other.
All Presbyterian employees, clinicians, members of the medical staff, contractors and volunteers are required to get vaccinated.
Current Employee Requirements
As set forth by the New Mexico Department of Health, the first dose of the vaccine should have been obtained no later than
Friday, August 27 and the second dose be within 40 days from first dose date. For those who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the deadline was Friday, August 27.
New Hire Requirements
COVID-19 vaccinations, or an approved medical or religious exemption, are required upon start date. If the vaccine has not been administered, or the exception has not been approved, prior to start date, the offer of employment may be delayed or rescinded.
For new hires, medical or religious exemption forms are available through Talent Acquisition, please contact your recruiter.
COVID-19 Vaccine Exemptions
There are three limited exemptions to getting the COVID-19 vaccine:
Having a qualifying medical condition recognized by the FDA or CDC as a contraindication to a COVID-19 vaccine
Having a disability requiring separate accommodation
To be eligible for a medical or disability exemption, an individual must provide Presbyterian with either a written statement from a New Mexico licensed Physician or Advanced Practice Clinician validating the need for a medical or disability exemption; or
Having a sincerely held religious belief requiring separate accommodation.
For a religious exemption, a documented request regarding the manner in which the administration of a COVID-19 vaccine conflicts with the religious observance, practice or sincerely held belief of the individual.
Please note, anyone granted an exemption must agree to COVID-19 testing on a weekly basis.
