Presbyterian is the largest employer of nurses in the state with more than 3,000 nurses practicing throughout New Mexico. Our nurses practice in both urban and rural communities, providing care in settings that range from patient homes to small free standing clinics and, of course, in our hospitals throughout the state. Presbyterian hospitals range from 25-bed rural facilities to a 453-bed urban facility.
Founded in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1908, Presbyterian Healthcare Services is now New Mexico's only private, nonprofit statewide healthcare system. With a single purpose of improving the health of individuals, families and communities, Presbyterian serves more than 875,000 customers throughout New Mexico.
Governed by an independent volunteer board of directors, Presbyterian offers a broad range of healthcare services, including the state's leading health plan, comprehensive hospital services, primary and specialty care from more than 27 clinics in eight New Mexico communities.
Presbyterian Hospital serves more New Mexicans than any other hospital in the state, and is just one part of a statewide system of care. Presbyterian Healthcare Services operates nine hospitals in Albuquerque, Clovis, Española, Rio Rancho, Ruidoso, Santa Fe, Socorro and Tucumcari.
In addition, Presbyterian offers New Mexicans a range of health insurance products through
